This Weekend: Oktoberfest 2014

This Weekend North Idaho- stuckinnorthidaho.comIt's that time of year again! Time to kick off fall right with about a thousand different options for Oktoberfest. Last year we did (what seemed like) an Oktoberfest marathon. I'm hoping this year will be a bit more low key, but I guess we'll find out soon enough! Here's the low-down for your Oktoberfest weekend(s):Daanen's Deli OktoberfestDaanen's is hosting their 21st annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, beginning at noon. The admission is free and they'll have live music, activities for the kiddos, beer (duh!), and classic German food like sausages, sauerkraut and rotkohl, German potato salad, giant pretzels, and apple strudel.CdA Downtown Oktoberfest - stuckinnorthidaho.comCd'A Downtown OktoberfestAs usual, the downtown fest is two nights, Friday from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 1-8 p.m. $20 will get you a mug and six tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased for (I think) $2 each. As I mentioned yesterday, this year's Oktoberfest is being paired with Crit Fest and the Coeur d'Fondo.Priest River OktoberfestI didn't know until I Googled it, but Priest River has an Oktoberfest. Who knew? It's this Saturday downtown Priest River.Harrison OktoberfestI bet this would actually be really fun to check out. It seems like Harrison is always up for a good party. This event is October 4 from 1-7 p.m. That's all the info. I could find. Good luck with that.Leavenworth OktoberfestIt's a little later, and a bit of a trip, but well worth it! I'm excited to go for the first time with Kyle and my parents. I'm not really sure what to expect, but I'm sure it's going to be an adventure. It's open for three weekends in October, if you haven't made a reservation yet, you're probably out of luck. The Alliance Sandpoint ID - stuckinnorthidaho.com Sandpoint OktoberfestThis year's festival is also a little later, on Saturday, October 11 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Granary Arts District (524 Church Street). There are plenty of activities including music headliner Nu Jack City, pumpkin painting, a beer garden, food vendors, art vendors, children's crafts, and for the first time, an international chef competition.Well... I do believe that's almost all of them. Let me know if I'm missing any ones worth a mention and I'll certainly add them to the list. Have fun this weekend, and please be safe!Cheers!Andy
