Ironman is approaching

Sunday was a beautiful but very windy day at the

Highlands Country Club in Post Falls

Hope everyone out there had a great Father's Day weekend! Our weekend was spent barbequing and golfing so I can't complain.

Now that Father's Day is over it's time to look forward to our next weekend, which my phone tells me is supposed to be a lot nicer. Here's keeping our fingers crossed!

There is so much going on this weekend it's unbelievable.

To start things off...

Motorboat played on June 1.

Free music, cheap beer. What else could you

ask for on a Friday evening?

Rock the Dock

Friday, June 22 4-7 p.m.

Come down to the Boardwalk Marina and listen to some great live music and cheap beer! Bring your friends and relax on the water. This event is every Friday through the summer.

The Boardwalk Marina is Home to the Side-Tie Cafe which serves hotdogs, ice cream, coffee drinks as well as beer on Friday nights for Rock the Dock.

Uncorked at the Boardwalk

Saturday, June 23 4-7 p.m.

Need something a little more relaxed this weekend? Uncorked is a great event with free jazz music and inexpensive wine tasting.

Come meet-and-greet with local wineries and sample some of their greatest selections. So far Coeur d'Alene Cellars and Gnarly Head are just a couple of wineries that have been there this year. Come on down!

Ironman

Sunday, June 24

Racers gather at the start line for Ironman 2011.

Ironman is one of the biggest events to hit Coeur d'Alene and the surrounding area. Every year thousands of people flock to the area to compete in one of the hardest athletic events a person can do. Come downtown and watch all the action!

The swim begins bright and early at 6 a.m. at Independence Point. Looking to volunteer or be involved? Visit IronmanCdA.com and sign up.

It's so much fun to watch the athletes and cheer them all on. Especially if you're a local because there are so many locals that compete every year, you're bound to recognize a few sweaty faces. Let's cheer them on!
