Paddleboard Racing
NIC and ROW Adventures teamed up to bring us SUP races down at the NIC beach. After talking with the NIC Outdoor Pursuits coordinator, Jon Totten, it sounds like this is going to be a regular thing with hopes of making it a weekly event by next year.The best part is anyone can enter for only $5 (free for NIC students) and ROW provides all the equipment. All you have to do is show up after 4:30 to register. I was surprised by how many participants and spectators there were considering it was the first event. But by the looks of it, Cd'A sure does love paddleboarding!
Jason Wing, owner of Slate Creek Brewery, was one of the sponsors at the event and even hosted an after party at the brewery. What a great team!
I'm excited to see how this event grows over the next year. I know Kyle is looking forward to racing in the next one!
