Hard to believe it's March already. I realize February is a short month, but it feels like we skipped a week or two rather than just a couple days. Around here it's been business as usual - meaning nothing too exciting. All of the pictures for this post are from either mine or Kyle's phone - so I apologize for the image quality - but hey, that's life sometimes. We finally made it over to try Daft Badger off of 2nd St. (in Cd'A) and we were surprised at how busy it was. The beer was good, the food was good and the atmosphere was great. I'm excited for warm weather so we can take advantage of their outdoor seating area. Cheers! We hosted our third annual Oscar party and required everyone to "suit up" in honor of NPH hosting. I loved his opening act (I'm a sucker for musical numbers and anything that includes Jack Black) and in general, I thought he did a great job. Tom (on the right) won with the most picks, just squeaking by our reigning champ, Greg (center). Kyle and I tied for third. We made our first turkey (based off of this tasty recipe) and I'm so pleased to announce that it turned out great and we feasted like turkey kings for a week. If you're in the PNW, you know how unseasonably warm and sunny it's been (hooray!). My weekends have been full of hikes with Juneau and trying to soak up as much sunshine as possible. One of my favorite evening walks is around Tubbs Hill because it has the very best views of the sunset on the lake. It's a great reminder of how lucky we are to live here. I mean, really, who else can walk less than a mile to see a sunset view like that? Not many. All is well with the world in the Nagel household. We'll be taking a road trip to the Oregon Coast soon, a much needed break. Any suggestions of restaurants, hikes or general things to do would be much appreciated!Hope your week is off to a great start!Andy
