Take a Hike | Mineral Ridge

Last Sunday we decided to head up to Mineral Ridge and enjoy some of the sunshine before it went away. Which it did. But this weekend is supposed to beautiful again and even though there's a ton going on it might be nice to get out of town for a couple hours.The trail isn't very steep and the hike is only about three miles. Easy to do in an hour or so. The only bad thing about it being easier was the amount of people we encountered. There was no letting Juneau off her leash on this hike. But we did our best to keep some distance from the other groups and it worked out great.I can't believe I've lived here for over 20 years and this was my first time hiking Cd'A's most popular trail.There's a little booklet you can pick up at the trail head and it gives you lots of facts about the trail and the area. Knowledge is power!There was a couple tidbits that were interesting, but for the most part if you've been here a while you probably already know most of it. It would be great for out-of-towners or someone new to the area. There's a BBQ pit at the top but it was locked so I don't know how you'd go about using it.Overall it was a great little trail and with the abundance of benches and viewpoints it would be a great place to take the kiddos.Have a great weekend everyone!
