It's another busy weekend in the PNW. It seems as every week of summer drifts by, I start to panic because I really don't feel like I've been taking advantage of the nice weather. With so much going on each week, it's a shame I don't make it out to do more. This weekend is the Hayden Triathlon and I'll be there with Juneau cheering on Kyle, Kendrich and lots of other friends and community members. Please come up and support this fun event. This is one of my favorite races that Kyle competes in because it's a sprint. Which means he's done with the race usually by about 10 a.m. It's also great for spectators because all the transitions are in the same spot, meaning less time spent traveling and worrying about missing your racer. The Post Falls Festival is this weekend as well. Get ready for lots of food, vendors and music for the whole family. Visit the city of Post Falls website or check out this PDF for more details.

Speaking of live music, do you remember when we went to the Sandpoint Oktoberfest and saw a crazy medieval rock band called the Alliance? Well if you've been wondering when you'd get the chance to see them in Cd'A, this weekend is your chance. The Alliance will be playing at City Park on Saturday from 4-7:30 p.m. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

This weekend also plays host to the Annual Parks Day Celebration. Food, music and fun will be around literally all day Saturday (9 a.m. to 10 p.m.) at McEuen and other participating parks in the area. Visit the city of Coeur d'Alene site for a complete schedule and more info.

Other than that, just take a walk down Sherman Ave. Friday and Saturday night for a bunch of live music. You know the drill there. Same with the Farmers Markets (this link totally rocks for area market locations - thanks Idaho Conservation League). The 11th Annual Sandpoint Classic Boat Festival is this Friday and Saturday. Hard to believe it's already getting to be wooden boat season. Jeez, time flies. The Pour Authority and the Pend d'Oreille Winery are also hosting live music this weekend.

I think that's all I've got for this weekend. It's potentially going to reach the 100-degree marker on Sunday, so please be safe and stay cool (remember your pets too)!
