This Weekend North Idaho

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all enjoyed the short week and the kick-off to football season. I have a big confession… I’m really not a pro football fan. I just never developed an attachment to a team which I feel is necessary. If you have no one to root for, what’s the point?

That being said, I love college football and plan to be a more responsible fan this year. Last year I only went to one Wazzu game and (mostly because we don’t have cable) only watched a few games on TV. Kyle and I have both decided to up our game on game days this year.

Go Cougs! Go Broncos!

I’ve decided to make my “This weekend” posts a little shorter. As much as I love scouring the web, hunting down live music to tell you about each week, I think I’m going to stick with discussing the larger events and any acts I feel are particularly notable.

I mean, really, we all know there’s going to be live music at almost every bar every weekend. If you really want to see the specifics, the Inlander’s event calendar is the best I’ve found. It’s up-to-date, really full and easily customizable for location and entertainment type.

With that said, there isn’t a whole lot going on this weekend other than some live music. One notable event for tonight is that Wednesday’s Live after Five concert was postponed to tonight. The cost this week is $3 and the Ryan Larsen Band is playing. The concert is located on the corner of Sixth and Sherman.

If you’re planning to be in Sandpoint this weekend, the Pend d’Oreille Winery is hosting a harvest party. There will be grape stomping and cork spitting (whatever that is…) on Saturday and live music each day with food, drink and merchandise specials. Check out their website for all the details.

I suppose there is one other thing worth mentioning… Today Kyle and I are celebrating our FOUR YEAR anniversary. How does time go by so quickly? I was thinking about doing a post this weekend about my thoughts on marriage so far – you know, something really sappy. But it feels really personal, so we’ll see.

I the meantime, I just want to say that if you’re looking for someone to marry, pick your best friend. That’s what did and I have to say every year get better and better. I feel so lucky to have Kyle in my life and I love being able to share our adventures with all of you.

As far as I know, we don’t have any big anniversary plans. Kyle works early tomorrow so our night will consist of wings and the Cougs game. Come to think of it, that sounds like a pretty great night. I’m sure we’ll do something special on Saturday.

I’ll give you the full update later.

Go Cougs!
