A Different Oktoberfest

Every year I give you all a run-down of the various Oktoberfest celebrations throughout North Idaho. I've listed several beer tasting events by town, did a three-part series about the Leavenworth Oktoberfest and last year highlighted Critfest and the Coeur d'Fondo - two biking events hosted right here in Coeur d'Alene. This year is a little different... This year I'm shifting focus to those bike events I mentioned. You see, for three days a week, over the course of at…

Why I Bike

All images for this post courtesy of the Coeur d'Alene Bike Co. This might seem a little reminiscent of Andrea’s post “Why I Run”, but in case you haven’t noticed by now, what drives us respectively, differs greatly. Road Trip: Leavenworth, Part 3

There were 4-5 entertainment areas full of tables and seats and a constant rotation of musicians and other acts, all thoroughly entertaining.   I have to say the biggest let down of the whole night was the…

Road Trip: Leavenworth, Part 1

I had been to Leavenworth as a child, and then again more recently for a late-night dinner on our way home from Seattle. But I have never really been there - it was never our destination. We took I-90 over and ended…
