A lot like Christmas

Winter in northern Idaho is a really sacred time for some people. Some use this time to hunker down and spend time inside, playing games and watching movies, or maybe catching up on some reading. Others live for the outdoors during this time. Snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, ice fishing, the list never ends. Up until about a year ago I was a member of the former group. While I thought the snow was beautiful and I love having a white Christmas,…

Good news for cyclists

Good news for all you bikers out there! The League of American Bicyclists awarded Coeur d'Alene as a Bicycle Friendly Community. Judging from the site, the designation is based on the amount of pathways for bikers, biking education in schools and the percentage of people who commute on bikes. You can learn more about it here. We're really fortunate to have so much support for outdoor activities here. With the Centennial Trail and beautiful surroundings, we really are a great…

The Blood Bayou is probably the most impressive out of the haunted houses, but there is a new attraction this year that's in 3D. That was pretty stinkin' innovative. I definitely jumped…

It’s a wrap! Another successful show.

Wow, what a whirlwind of a weekend. My husband and I are lucky enough to be friends with the dock master at the Boardwalk Marina, and because of this we are able to help out with the Wooden Boat Show this year. This was just our second year doing it, but it is such a blast, despite the heat this year. Click here to see my Flickr slideshow   We get to talk with the boat owners, help them dock…
