A little cabin time

It's amazing how a little time away can make you feel recharged and give you a positive boost. In an ideal world, I would be telling you an amazing story about an awesome trip we went on over Labor Day weekend, but in actuality Kyle had to work on Saturday, I wanted to finish painting the house, and my parents needed me to feed their cat while they were out of town. Such is life. Luckily for us, we were…

Take a Hike | Syringa Trails

A little over a week ago Kyle, Megan and Dylan decided to go mountain biking around what Megan called Syringa Hill in Sandpoint. As it turns out, this trail system is much more than just a hill with a trailhead. It starts on Pine St. and leads you through some pretty tall weeds and into  Sherwood Forest which is an area of land that was actually donated by private citizens for the good of public use and recreation. The trail…

2013 Wrap Up

Today I want to do a little recap of some of my favorite posts to celebrate the awesomeness that was 2013. January Last January I announced that I would participate in a 365 Photo Challenge where I would attempt to take a photo every day for a…

Take a Hike | Gold Hill Trail 3

Case in point: Last Friday we took the day off and went up to the Sagle/Sandpoint area for a little hiking. Much to my dismay it was pouring all day. Remember? I don't think I've had to water my plants since.…

A quick trip to Riley Creek

This weekend we made a quick, one-night  trip up to Riley Creek Recreational Area to meet up with my family and do a little camping.  The campground was beautiful, and obviously a very popular place to go. The sites were roomy and just a short walk away from the river and boat launch. There's a large, grassy field (great for frisbee or fetch) and a sand volleyball court. So nice!
