Escape to the Sawtooths and Redfish Lake

After record-breaking heat, a trip to Redfish Lake was just what we needed. This post is brought to you in partnership with Merrick Pet Care. All thoughts and opinions are my own. It's amazing how some things work out when you don't make any plans. As a self-described type-A, I like plans. Knowing where I'm going to be and when, for how long, etc., is important. Without these plans I can turn into a complete basket case, but often that's where…

Take an awesome trip to Cannon Beach, OR

Road Trip: Cannon Beach, Part 1

I’ve been wanting to take a trip to Oregon for well over a year and we finally made the 464 mile trek to Cannon Beach in April. I know, I know, this post is a little late. My parents and I have been going to the yearly dog show at the fairgrounds since I was a kid. I'm a crazy dog person, I realize this. But this year the coolest part was sharing this with my nephews and teaching them about all…

Dog d’Alene

Two of my favorite summer kick-off events are this weekend! I'll post about the second tomorrow, but today is going to the dogs. Literally. Dog d'Alene is the only downtown event that's solely for dogs and their owners. This is the fifth annual Dog d'Alene, it's held on 6th and Sherman behind the Parkside tower. Even if you're not a dog owner, there's a lot to check out! Here's the full schedule: 10 a.m. -  AJ's Tail and Trails walk…
